MotoGP took a break after the German Grand Prix, held at the Sachsenring circuit on the weekend of July 5-7. Since then, the Motorcycle World Championship paddock has been on vacation after the first nine races of the season.
In MotoGP, Pecco Bagnaia leads the overall standings with 22 points. The Italian has secured six victories on Sundays and another two in the Sprints. Jorge Martín is second, having lost the lead in Germany due to a crash a few laps from the finish while he was in first position. The rider from Madrid has ten points less than Bagnaia, while Marc Márquez is third. The Gresini rider, with 56 points less than the Turin native, has been on the podium in four Sunday races and five Sprints but has not yet won any race.
